Editions done in 'On Page Optimization' : 

1. Title Optimization : It is the title which comes as the head. An apt title is one which has 512 pixel width and is within 55-60 characters.

The title should be interesting and catchy. It should be error free i.e; no spelling or grammatical mistakes. It is always better to include the focusing keyword in the title. 

In case there is no title , Google will use H1 or H2 portion as the title. 


2. Meta Tag / Description : 

It is the description which comes when searched also known as Snippet. It is used in the head session. Its maximum pixel width is 1024. If there is no meta description Google will take something from our content.

155-160 characters in a page and limit below 155 characters in a blog or article post. Also the content in meta description should be unique.

Advanced meta tag - 

a) Canonical Meta Tag : For avoiding content duplication. 

In case two or more web pages have same content , Canonical tags can be used. 

It should be character descriptive and impressive. There should be no spelling mistakes , and grammatical errors. 

b) Open Graph Tag : When our website is being shared on social media , we can decide which part , image ,URL etc to be shown. It can be customized. 

Others - Keyword Meta Tag [ used till 2009] , Robot Meta Tag etc. 


3. Body :  It is important to give an interesting H1 tag. This is because , SEO title can be taken from H1. For this we should use catchy heading and use the focusing keywords in a descriptive way.

Limit the word count with 7-8 and never exceed 10 words. Avoid spelling and grammatical errors. Contents followed by H2 , H3 , H4 should be related or relevant to the heading. 


4. Content Optimization : Try to use fresh , relevant , quality and unique contents in your page. Keep your content simple and user friendly. We should avoid using complex and lengthy sentences. 

Usage of Bold words in between sentences , will make it easier for the user to read without losing concentration and interest.

TIPS TO IMPROVE CONTENT : 

i) Use focusing keywords 2-3 times in your body portion. This will help to improve the ranking. 

ii) Arrange keywords before a fullstop or a comma . This is because when google crawls , it stops in front of a fullstop and comma. So this will help in ranking. 

iii) Use fonts which are user friendly and which don't strain the users eyes. 

iv) Use legible font , color and size. 

v) Arrange keywords in visible area of the body portion. 


5. Image Optimization :  * Images used in the page should help visitors understand the content of the page. 

* Try to use attractive and impressive images so that it attracts the user.

* Images should be in the size such that it loads quickly. 

* Give alt name , so that it is easier for google to understand what the image is. 

* File name should be apt and if there are 2 or more words use " - " in between.

* If the image and content are similar , it will help google understand the content in an easier way. 
* Use the image identity term as image file name as well as alt name. 

6. Anchor Text Optimization :  Adding hyperlinks to keywords is known as Anchor Text. 
Anchor Text fuel up the crawling process in our webpage. We should never give hyperlinks to another page or website from your focusing keyword , as they work as recommendation value.
